Guidelines
Global Journal of English Language and Literary Research (GJELR) is the journal that accepts original research papers, review articles, theoretical essays, and interdisciplinary research in the field of English language, English literature, cultural studies, and other related subjects. All authors need to adhere to the following guidelines in order to make the review and publication process as smooth as possible.
1. Manuscript Submission
- Submission of the manuscripts should be done via the online submission of the journal.
- All submissions are to be original, unpublished and not under consideration elsewhere.
- There is a registration and account creation process before the submission of the work by the authors.
- The submissions are to be made in the form of Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx).
2. Language and Style
- The journal can only accept papers that are written in English.
- All the manuscripts will be in clear and scholarly English.
- Writers who do not write in English are advised to enlist the services of an editor in order to make the content simple to understand and comprehend.
- Throughout the paper, the American or the British English should be used.
3. Manuscript Structure
1. Title Page
- Title of the manuscript
- Full names of all authors
- Contact email(s) and Affiliation(s)
- ORCID ID (if available)
2. Abstract
- 150-250 words will be the summary of the research objectives, methodology, findings, and contribution.
3. Keywords
- 4–6 relevant keywords
4. Main Text
- Introduction
- Literature Review
- Methodology (if applicable)
- Discussion/Analysis
- Conclusion
5. References
- Complete list of citations formatted according to the journal’s citation style.
6. Appendices (if applicable)
4. Formatting Guidelines
- The font in which the manuscripts should be typed is 12-point Times New Roman.
- The spacing between the lines should be 1.5 all over the document.
- Use 1-inch margins on all sides.
- Each page has to be numbered.
- Tables and figures are to be inserted in the text and numbered in a sequence.
- Illustrations, graphs, and all other tables used should be clear, properly labeled, and referenced in the text.
5. Citation and Referencing Style
- The formatting style of GJELR is the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th Edition (except where specified otherwise).
- Every source used in the text should be put in the list, and the other way.
- Manuscripts that do not follow the required citation style may be returned for revision before peer review.
6. Peer Review Process
- GJELR has a model of a double-blind peer review. The identities of both the reviewer and the author remain anonymous.
- Manuscripts are assessed based on originality, academic quality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
- Reviewers provide constructive feedback to support the improvement of submissions.
- Authors may receive decisions of Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.
7. Publication Ethics
GJELR follows the international ethical standards of academic publication:
- Any form of plagiarism is not allowed. Papers have to be original, and a similarity report can be demanded.
- Every author is required to ensure that his/her manuscript has never been published or delivered elsewhere.
- The conflicts of interest must be reported when submitting it.
- With references to sources, adequate recognition and citation should be done.
8. Open Access and Copyright
- GJELR accepts and publishes all articles on the open-access platform, which is freely accessible to all readers across the world.
- The copyright of the authors is retained as the journal is allowed to publish and distribute the content.
9. Revision and Resubmission
- In case revisions are asked, the authors are supposed to present revised manuscripts within the stipulated deadline.
- The resubmission should also be accompanied by a separate document responding to the commentary made by the reviewer.
